Roland Jarvis

BIO

Born in France to a French mother and English father. Jarvis was educated at Guilford Technical Collage & Kings College London 1945-51. Studied at Chelsea College under Ceri Richards 1954-56. Lived in Paris from 1956-59. Taught at Watford, Camberwell, Kingston and Brighton College. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Victoria & Albert Museum and the Towner Gallery, Eastbourne. Lived in Hastings where he was renown as a designer of astronomical clocks. His Edinburgh Weavers commission ‘Taurus’ was hung on the P&O London – Sydney Liner SS Oriana, launched in 1959.
