BIO

Helena Traill is a rising British artist whose expressive, multi-layered paintings reimagine landscapes and city scenes as emotive fields of colour and form. Her work explores the interplay between perception and memory, using bold brushwork and luminous pigment to evoke atmosphere and movement rather than literal representation. Drawing from the traditions of fine art painting, Traill’s process is instinctive and physical. She builds each piece through repeated layering, allowing the work to shift and evolve over time. The result is a striking balance between control and spontaneity, structure and abstraction.

Traill studied Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, graduating in 2019, and went on to complete a Design Masters at the Royal College of Art in 2024. This academic foundation informs her sensitivity to composition, spatial awareness, and narrative in visual form.

In 2025, Traill held her first sell-out solo exhibition in Chelsea, which lead to further acquisitions from private collectors and corporate clients, including a notable series now held at Loveday, Belgravia. She was invited to exhibit a specially commissioned body of work for the ‘Sculpture Walk’ at Treasure House 2025 and her work is currently on view at the RSA (Royal Society of Arts, London) with series of work titled ‘Urban London’. She is available for private commissions including interior designers and corporate and private clients to create bespoke pieces that respond to space, mood, and narrative on both small and large scale.
